Apparitions & Double Vision

Lubitel adventures and ghost hunting with a double exposure treat that looks great in that 6×6 medium format size on Kodak Gold with the wood paneling of the room setting everything else up just right.

Cabin Spaces

Wandering around Wellspring Mountain is one of my favorite things to do. One of the unoccupied cabins was just sitting there ready for a few snaps on the Kodak UltraMax I had in my Nikon FE.

Riding Around On Expired Gold

A few views of an afternoon riding around the warehouses in town with a new (to me) Nikon FE and a roll of Kodak Gold that expired in 2002. Pretty sure the lease was a Nikon 35mm f2 AIS. I intentionally over exposed a little, or a little more depending on the shot. These turned out better than I was expecting fo unpredictable film and the first roll through a new camera. Expired film is a blast.

Towed

Might need a tow. I think they’ve been sitting there a few.

It’s always a blast grabbing the Nikon FM as I’m headed out the door. I know there will be something cool to see. This time it was captured on Lomography Lady Grey 400.

First Roll of JCH StreetPan

Nikon FM on Japan Camera Hunter StreetPan 400

I picked up a few rolls of Japan Camera Hunter StreetPan with the best intentions of shooting a roll or two pretty quickly for the fun of it. Then it got thrown in a box and forgotten about for a few months. When I came across it again, I threw it in my Nikon FM with a 28mm f2.8 Nikkor AIS lens and took off. Here’s a few from the first roll.

I dig the vibe of JCH StreetPan. Usually going for color, this black & white film has pulled me in to reaching for something like this more often than I have before. Now that I’ve seen first hand how StreetPan handles, I’ve got a good idea on how I’d like to use this film in the future.

My Adventures With Superman

Any Superman/DC fans out there?

I’ve been sitting on this for a hot minute. Check out the theme song for the new My Adventures With Superman coming to Adult Swim, Max, and Toonami in July. You just might hear some Kyle Troop & The Heretics.

It was a blast getting to work with the creators of the show and write some 90s pop punk that would be just right for running out of the Daily Planet and flying off to save Metropolis. There may have been discussions of the original Thundercats for inspiration too.

Pretty cool working with Warner Brothers Animation after seeing that logo slapped on most of the cartoons I watched as a kid.

Oh yeah…it’s all Orange Amplifiers and SJC Drums on this jam.

The Local Wildlife

Nikon FE on Lomography Color Negative 800

You just never know what you’re going to find roaming the streets of town around here. I know the government released coyotes in the 70s. But I didn’t realize there’s a flourishing t-rex population keeping it pretty low key.

It’s fun to wonder around on sleepy afternoons when everyone else is home or at work. Finding those golden times is the only way to find these gems unoccupied. The t-rex and cow were taken with a Nikon FE through a Nikkor 35mm AIS lens on Lomo Color 800. The bird was taken with a Petri Racer rangefinder that has a 45mm lens on Kodak Portra 400.

Just keep an eye out for the local wildlife.

Bumped into Bryan

Bumped into Bryan

Bryan is one of the homies. We've been friends since around 2009. So when he's in town, I'm heading to hang out. Bryan was out with Enslaved, who were playing the Variety Playhouse. And of course, I sunny day during the spring is the perfect time to grab a camera and...

De Soto Hotel Light Leak

De Soto Hotel Light Leak

There's always something to see driving through downtown Kingston. The De Soto Hotel still has its charm. I'd very much like to see this place brought back to life with either a small hotel or restaurant. But even as it sits, the vibe of the area is welcoming. So with...
