rev. may
It’s been brought to my attention that my blog posts are short. I won’t name any names… *cough*Jody May*cough*
So let’s see if I can get back into the swing of things.
I played my drums for a while last night. I’ve been playing a lot more regularly since moving into my house. After 45 minutes I had a few blisters. That junk hurts.
My main focus has been keeping my energy up through the entire practice time. I noticed that after about 15 minutes I really started feeling tired and my attack and accuracy was going down the shaft of the out house in Dead Snow. I decided to push through and keep playing.
My strategy was to pull back from the more technical parts and go with simple beats that wouldn’t take a lot to play. But at the same time I stuck with things that would keep my body working and not cool down.
It worked great! After I pushed through the slump at the 15 minute mark, the next half hour was great!
Any other drum geeks out there have ideas or things they like to do to keep momentum while playing?
